| The Dr. Atkins diet methodology is possibly one of the most dangerous
diet plans anyone could follow. Besides profound negative effects on
nutrition, it causes serious problems with the digestive system -
particularly the gall bladder.
The only reason weight loss occurs with the Atkins diet is that the
body goes into shock and loses weight but only temporarily. As soon as
a normal diet is reinstated, the weight goes right back on but damage
has already been done to the kidneys and liver.
To lose weight, eat fruit only until lunch, eat vegetables, protein
with low fat, and whole grains. It's healthy and permanent.

Your nutritional advice isn't too sound either. Breakfast is a very
important meal. It gives you energy for the day and makes you less hungry
at lunch and therefore less likely to eat inappropriately at lunch or
later in the afternoon. I eat a hearty breakfast of carbohydrates and
fruit with a little protein (such as cereal with milk and bananas, or a
bagel with nonfat cream cheese and a glass of orange juice) and have
successfully lost and maintained weight.
Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, lots of whole grains, and
lowfat protein sources is good advice.
