| Do you mean the ramen noodles that come in plastic packs for $.15 and
have slaty "flavor packets, like "Ramen Pride"? (I loved on those in
college.) Those have fat in them. One pack I saw (not Ramen Pride
brand) had 350 calories for the package, including 5 grams of fat (45
calories.)
If you mean fresh ramen noodles - where do you get them?

SOme brands have 8 grams of fat per package.
I buy Campbell's low-fat and only that one. Most of them do not post
calorie/fat info - so they either don't know or they don't want to tell
you (you figure it out).
.1> If you mean fresh ramen noodles - where do you get them?
You can make fresh noodles in almost no time. I've never made Ramen
noodles, but regular pasta is as simple as semolina and water (and an
egg if yuo want egg noodles) and a machine to form it.
They taste 10 times better, and cook faster (2-3 minutes), but there's
always the clean up ...

| Are the Campell's lowfat good? Are they more expensive? (The biggest
appeal of Ramen noodles to me is lunch for $.15 in 3 minutes.)

Make that 8 grams of fat PER SERVING - 16 grams per package!! For
a quick 'diet' meal I used to cook up two packages of raman pride
noodles and sprinkle some nutritional yeast on top. Little did
I know that my 'diet' meal started off with 32 grams of fat!
The reason that they are so high in fat is because they are
fried in oil.
Try The low fat Campbell's noodles. They're pretty good.

They're 4/.89, the same price as all the other Ramen noodles at the
Almacs where I find the Campbell's.
.4> Make that 8 grams of fat PER SERVING - 16 grams per package!!
It's even worse than that ... Ramen pride is 9gm fat per serving for
18 gms fat per package.
Cambpells lowfat isn't without its faults (after all, what do you
expect for $0.22/package?) ... it has 890mg sopdium/serving, regular
Ramen has about 750-800.

| But you can easily regulate the salt by how much of the seasoning
packet you use. I tend to barely sprinkle it on...
18 grams of fat is ridiculous. I went home and threw away my Ramen
Pride. Now I have four packs of Campbell's Low-fat waiting for me.

| I agree with D! Ramen Pride is out. I kept looking for the fat content
and couldn't find it, must be right in front of my eyes ;-). And, I
never ever used the seasoning packets. Ah well,

| The fat in Ramen noodles is tucked away under "hydrogenated ..."
or "hydrolized ..."
I remember spotting one of those a few years ago, way UP on the list of
ingredients, coupled with the mysterious lack of fat information.

Anyone got pointers to stores in the Hudson, Marlboro, Northboro
area that carry Campbell's ? I've found them in the styrofoam cups,
but they have the seasoning added already (and run some 65 cents
a carton).

| Why not go to your local supermarket and ask for the manager?
I did this at Almacs and Stop 'n Shop because, even though I mentioned
it to the managers, they still don't carry Guiltless Gourmet chips, nor
does Stop 'n Shop carry Campbells lowfat noodles.
I found out they have cards you can fill out to request items the store
doesn't carry.
They are actually postcards that the manager will mail once they reach
a decision on the item in question. I haven't heard back yet, but this
was only a week ago that I filled them out.

| Is the fat in the noodle or the flavoring? I've always assumed the
flavoring, but I just tried a package of low fat Raman noodles (Nissin;
1 g. fat per serving), but the noodles were a different texture. And
it was still every bit as salty. Glad I only bought one package.

Both.
I like the low fat version (but I like salt ;-) ).
