Has anyone had experience with and/or heard about a product called Formula One by Alliance? I've recently met someone (a distributor) who lost 12 pounds in the first two weeks of "the program." Her husband lost 5 pounds his first week. She provides sample packs of a 4-day supply so that you can try the product out before investing in an entire bottle. For people with high blood pressure, a stern warning apparently comes with the bottle, advising checking with a doctor before using, because it speeds up the metabolism and could affect the heart rate. All ingredients are natural -- herbs and stuff; no caffeine; no phenylpropanolamine (PPL), the stuff that's in OTC diet pills. I was really impressed by the results this lady has had and figured that I've tried everything, why not one more? Even though my eating habits have changed for the better, I still look for an easy way out. And I *know* I have to work at losing weight. I guess I figure everything's worth a shot as long as it's not harmful medically. (This last paragraph could start a new topic, huh?) Thanks in advance for any info. Catherine

Well what's the catch? Is it a nutrition shake that is supposed to take the place of meals, like Slimfast? Is it something that is supposed to make you less hungry? Or is something that allows you to eat everything and still lose? The first is fine, as long as it really does give you enough nutrition and you are getting enough calories that you aren't starving yourself. The second is also fine, if it isn't an addictive chemical, like diet pills are, but I'm skeptical, and - what's to stop you from eating for emotional reasons, even if you aren't hungry? The third is total B*!!sh!t - the only things that really allow you to do that are really REALLY harmful to your body (someone was once selling tape-worm larvae as a diet aid - no kidding.) And regardless, you've heard it over and over, and it's time it's as true as the last; if you lose weight using some "miracle cure" - how will you keep the weight off? When will you change your eating habits - after you've lost the weight, without that as a motivation? I don't know about you, but for me, changing my eating habits required the motivation of losing weight. I tried a dozen miracle cures, and each time, whether or not I lost weight, I went back to my old eating habits. Every time. Now, when I see something like this, I ask myself - what makes me think this will be different? Insanity means doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. D! |
