777.1 | New WW | EMDS::CHAMBERLAIN | | Fri Jan 08 1993 20:41 | 13 |
| Hi
The old plan had levels 1,2 & 3
The new plan has a Basic Plan, w/ 5 to 6 breads and no more floaters.
Then I guess they'll give a new book to track excercise and foods.
Oh, the new plan also give you 10 meals predesigned that you can choose
from... 10 breakfast, 10 lunch and 10 dinner... giving you a guide to
follow.
It seems to be the same food just different limits.

| They've done away with levels? Or added a new choice? What you have
described sounds so confining that it would be hard to live with.

| I was also on the old version of Watchers last year. I just rejoined
over at MRO4. The program has a new look but easier to follow. You can
still use the level program.
The program is far from confining..... That's one of the reasons I
choice Weight Watchers.... I've been on all types of programs and the
one that works for me is when you start learning how the control you
portions and eat your own food and you don't have to purchase the
company's products. It's not a diet its a way of life. .
Good Luck...

777.7 | MORE FLEX TO COME | AKOCOA::THORP | | Thu Jan 21 1993 18:04 | 13 |
| The changes I see so far in wk 1 is that they give you (women) 4-5
protein and 5-6 breads. No floaters or personal choices, 700 OC a
week. My girl friend is in wk 3 and she just gained 2 personal
choices, but they reduce protein and bread by 1 each. That's when your
flexibility returns.
There are changes in exchange info in the food list. When I joined 2
programs ago, 1% milk was 1M and OC, now its just 1M. Potato as bread
is 4 oz now (yeah), and diet pudding and frozen yogurt has changed,
just to name a few.

777.8 | Some other changes... | NEWAGE::VENTURA | Wherever you go, there you are! | Fri Jan 22 1993 15:20 | 16 |
| The format of the meetings has changed somewhat. Video tape player, TV
monitors and coolers have been added. The Video equipment plays a tape
loop at the beginning of the meeting, then the leader usually begins
the meeting with a 5 minute tape based on a theme for the meeting.
Last week's was on Accertiveness, i.e., ordering food the "right" way
(no fat, dressing on the side, ect.). They use professional actors
(yes, they are actually overweight), and the productions are well done,
albeit, sometimes a bit too corny for my taste (sound effects). The
coolers will be to offer WW food products, but the leaders here are not
pushing the products, they are just there to make finding the products
easier. The WW materials sport a more neutral color (gender-wise) and
there is a rumor, spread by our leader, that seperate materials will be
available for men.
