768.0. "Rice Cracker Numbers, Anyone?" by DKAS::FEASE (Andrea Midtmoen Fease) Mon Sep 28 1992 15:42

Does anyone know the calorie/fat/cholesterol/sodium numbers for
Rice Crackers? I'm specifically interested in "Nature's Garden" rice
crackers, which are teriyaki-sauce coated crackers that I have found
in BJ's Wholesale Club in MA.

I would think any type of teriyaki-sauce coated rice crackers
(*not* rice cakes) would be equivalent.

         Thanks!

I don't know about Terriyaki rice crackers, but I imagine they are
pretty close to regular rice crackers, which are approximately 100 cal
per ounce. That will be pretty accurate unless they add fat for the
    Terriyaki - check the ingredients.

    Hi Diana,

         Ingredients are:
              Glutinous Rice
Soy Sauce (Water, Soy Bean, Wheat, Salt, Sugar)
              Sugar
              Sesame Seed
              Seaweed
              Chili (I throw those away, I don't like spicy stuff ;^) )
Artificial Coloring (US FD&C Yellow #5 and #6)

Would that change the 100 cal/oz?

Also, could you (or someone) please give me fat, cholesterol and
sodium numbers? I'm really most interested in the fat number (for
now), but as I modify my diet I would need the other numbers too.

         Thanks again!

The only thing that would substantially change the calories would be if
there were added fat, and from the ingredient list there is not, so I
would say 100 cal/oz is pretty close.

And also pretty close to 0 g of fat, for your "numbers". Also 0
cholesterol. (Any product that has no animal products has no
cholesterol, though it might be high in saturated fat, which is almost
    as bad.)
