Way back at the beginning of this conference, there was a discussion on PMS and weight gain. Did anyone find a medical type person who could answer the "question" from the beginning of time. I know that as old as I am, as often as I've dieted, as long as I've been menstruating, I still gain at least 5 - 7 lbs a week or two before my menstrual cycle and the silly thing is I don't change anything?

I am new to this conference and have been scanning the topics for one like this. This may not be the same thing but it is along the same lines. I have just changed the brand of BC pills and have put on 10lbs in the last 2 months. My eating habits haven't changed, and I have actually been more active. My Dr. says I will level out in a few months but I feel I am putting on more weight, my pants are getting uncomfortable!! If some one knows the answer to this one also, it would be appreciated. thanks virginia

I find I gain an average of 4-5 pounds that same time of the month. When I am drinking alot of water it seems to be only a couple pounds. That might help.

It's perfectly natural to take fluid on board in the few days preceding menstruation. Just take this into consideration before you panic. /andy |
