| If you're not used to walking, this will make you feel tired --
probably because it relaxes you. Just keep walking every day. In a
VERY short time -- a week or two, maybe less -- you'll feel more
energetic rather than tired after your walk.

721.2 | no sugar + lots of carbs = high energy for me | TLE::TLE::D_CARROLL | a woman full of fire | Mon Feb 17 1992 20:27 | 14 |
| I've had much more energy since I cut simple sugars out of my diet. I
find my energy level is highest when I eat lots of complex carbos and
not too too much protein. (My diet is actually lower in complex carbos
than "recommended" - I notice the difference when I make alterations.)
I always feels tired after eating a large meal, no matter whether the
meal is "good" or "bad" foods. A certain amount of slowness is to be
expected right after eating - your body has to devote a certain amount
of energy to digesting your food. Also, I have heard described a
mid-afternoon lull, when you blood sugar drops from lunch. Perhaps a
fruit or carbo snack then? (I dunno...I *never* eat between meals and
that works best for me.)

| Eating a low-protein diet makes me tired. Not physically tired,
but mentally tired. I try to eat a high-protein meal for breakfast
if I can.
