How many grams of fat is one allowed in a day?

I have heard that you should have no more than 30 grams of fat per day,
and that haveing NO fat is bad for you.

30 grams is about right.
Most nutritionists say limit calories from fat to 15-20% of all the
calories you eat.
If you're on a 1500 calorie/day diet, then that works out to between
225 and 300 calories. 30 grams of fat is 270 calories, so that's in
the ballpark.

am trying to lose fat while gain muscle, so I only cheat
once a week from my "diet"
