I need to loose 31 lbs.

And I hope this will be the last time I ever say that!

Joyce? Long time no see! 31lbs is a snip. And I say that as someone who
has decided to shed a further 30lbs this year in order to run a
    marathon...

Andy, loosing the weight has been easy in the past....keeping it off
after reaching goal is another story...

    I want both! ;-)

    Hi,

I agree. I have lost 50lbs about 4 times and continue to gain it back.
About a year and half ago I lost 50 again and said it was the last time
I was going to take it off. I got rid of all my big clothes. Guess
what I have gain all but about 5-10 lbs back and have made a new years
resolution also to take it off again. I started today again and need
to find to solution to keeping it off. Losing it not so bad, when I
make up my mind to lose it I can, it's keeping it off!!!! Lets all
keep our resolution from year to year, maybe that will work!!!!

    Good luck to everyone.

    Sandi :)

Just wanted to add that I started yesturday seriously paying attention
to what I eat etc. (and have lost 2 more pounds!). I'm having a bit of
food withdrawl craziness right now, but I have decided to get the
weight off. I've said this so many times its a little embarrassing to
say it once again. But I'm doing it, finally. (and bribery from my family
    helps too)

    Good luck, Joyce.

Get motivated, stay motivated, and it will happen.

I managed to drop 6.5 pounds over the holiday's. I have a newfound
sense of why I want to do this. My back will ache less, I will be
able to keep up with the kids better. I will have a whole "new"
wardrobe to wear, etc. This time it seems different from the other
times that I've lost/gained. There is a peacefulnesss. Perhaps
this time it's really for me.

I bought a yearly planner and have written goals in it and little
inspirational messages to myself like "The last winter of necessary
sweatpants", "check your closet", "goal next month", etc. I am
following WW and am the contact person for it in Colorado Springs.
I am cutting out the "Cathy" comic strip each day that it deals
with "dieting". It's a soft reminder to me.

I've set my goal date for May 5, 1992. I have about another 34-38
pounds to go.
