Hi all... I have a question, it might sound weird, but, it
can never hurt to ask, right? Anyway, I took Tuesday off
from work and ended up getting a pretty bad sunburn. On Wed.
I weighed in and had a 3 lb loss (yeah!). On Thursday and today
I seem to have put that weight back on (all 3 lbs) and I have not eaten
any more then before. I do not think it is 'that time' though I am not
sure...
What I am wondering about is can the body react to a sun burn by
retaining water? I think I would feel better if I knew the 3 lbs were
just temporary and that they will go away. If it makes a difference, I
have recently lost 15 lbs (as of Wed.) fairly quickly, 3 weeks. I just
started the diet and I have a lot to lose so the beginning is pretty
quick...
Thanks,
Amy

My guess (and this is JUST a guess) is that the sunburn would cause
this loss/gain. The day you got the burn, you probably got slightly
de-hydrated resulting in a loss. And I have heard that when the body
is healing a burn of any type, the tissue around the burn becomes
extra-hydrated. Again - I'm not sure of what I am saying.

Me again... I don't know if it was the sunburn or not, but, the
weight was definitely water. I lost those three plus, I think, at
least 2 for the week. I will see on Wed.

Amy
