661.0. "over-the-counter diuretics?" by SWAM1::PEDERSON_PA (Hey man, dig this groovy scene!) Fri Apr 05 1991 16:41

Can anyone suggest somekind of vitamin or mineral
or herbal stuff that is a mild diuretic?

I'm on a lowfat (20 gr /fat per day) diet, but I get
discouraged "once a month" and if I have anything
with soy sauce flavoring....I just retain water
like a sponge!! I know there's stuff out there in the
vitamin section of stores, but I don't know which
    one does what!

    Please help!

    thanks,

    pat

    Pat,

Are you drinking enough water??? Water will flush out all that
sodium you consumed in the soy sauce.

I take a good multi (natural - not drug store) B complex and my
all time favorite B6. Taking these along with watching my diet,
no sugar (junk food), or alcohol prior to my menstrual cycle really
makes a big difference. Don't expect to eliminate fluid altogether,
    but you can minimize it.

Now if I could only stick to this!!!!

661.2"Weightless" natural teaSWAM1::PEDERSON_PAHey man, dig this groovy scene!Fri May 03 1991 19:5720
    Hi!

Since writing my note, I've found what I was looking for...
Here in AZ, there's a store called Gentle Strength(which
is a matural foods co-op). They have all kinds of natural
herb teas for *everything*. I bought some tea called
"Weightless". the ingredients are Uva Ursi leaf 45mg.
This really works. There's also a tea called "Dieter's
Tea" which works like an Exlax (I would not use this, as
I've been told it *really* cleans you out!).

They have teas for PMS, relaxing, de-toxing, etc.

I'm not a great water drinker (i get to the point where
I'd *barf* if I drank another glass!), so the "weightless"
    tea will really help.

    Thanks for the info!
