Just a note to let who ever is interested know that I've been trying a new diet of Chinese food. I buy LaChoy food in the cans. (2 cans stacked on top of each other) It has veggies and meat, and one serving is only 70 calories. Inbetween meals I snack on rice cakes. If you break down and cheat you will still lose weight (unless you get piggish) because you are only having 140 calories (plus how ever many rice cakes) per day. It works. Trust me. Then on the weekend have something different without going overboard. I started last Friday, this is Tuesday, and I have lost 3 pounds. (and thats with me going off it on saturday) Anyway, I'm exited. later donna

I think it's great you are losing weight, but it doesn't sound like a very healthy way to do it. I'd almost bet you aren't getting all the nutrients you need for a balanced diet. If that's all you're eating each day, you aren't getting any fruits or dairy products in your diet which are needed on a healthy weight loss program. That's just my opinion....but think about it. I make Chinese food in the wok at home, and it has been a key part of my weightloss program. But I start with fresh veggies, and throw in the occasional can of water chestnuts or sprouts or bamboo shoots. Making Chinese food for diet purposes has a lot to do with controlling fats (the wok helps), starches (go easy on corn starch), and sugar (I don't use any). I would think carefully about all the additives in canned Chinese food, ouch. Holly | |||||

You are right. I looked at the can and it contains 850mg of soduim. (surprised I'm alive!) Anyway, I think cooking fresh veggies in a wok is a great idea. Thanks donna |
