Just got my issue of WW magazine and their editorial section says they will no longer accept cigarette advertising! I think this is GREAT! If you think so, too, please take time to write a letter to them and give them your support. I'm sure this was a difficult decision, as cigarette advertising no doubt generates many $$ for them. Liz

536.1 | smoking related to weight gain | CNTROL::JENNISON | Wed Dec 13 1989 09:43 | 14
Thought this might be a good place to mention this. Both Cooking Light Magazine and American Fitness (? - AAFA's Magazine) have mini-articles on smoking actually contributing to weight gain. I just skimmed the article, but the gist of it was that smoking is believed to hormonally affect the individual, causing them to store fat in certain areas. If I get a chance, I'll bring in the articles. Karen
536.2 | Proper Program | SALEM::ALLEN_D | Mon Dec 18 1989 09:26 | 9
That is true I have read the samething quite a while ago in a health mag.and it also said to the effect that the smoking robbed the body of the vitiam C that it needed to regenerate itself.Don't forget to get into a program that rebuilds the muscel tissue as you lose the fat for if not than the removal of fat will leave an excess amount of skin to be tighten up in toneing it to new muscel tissue. So to complete the program eating properly is very important as is the taking off the weight. Best OF Health |
