What brand of sausage are you looking at? Is it packaged as links
or as a roll? I've had the Turkey Store Italian Sausage, and
the Wampler Farms Breakfast Sausage, both packaged in 1-lb rolls
(frozen). Both were very good, and reasonably low in fat (there
was a lot less to drain off than with regular sausage).

I think it's Brook Farms - NOT frozen and in links. The same brand
name sells ground turkey. Not definite about the name, though - will
check at the store.....
Thanks....

493.4 | LOUIS RICH'S TURKEY SAUSAGE | OFFPLS::DESHARNAIS | | Thu Aug 24 1989 12:28 | 18 |
| I just noticed this note and wanted to give you my input. I
discovered Louis Rich's Turkey Sausage in the frozen section with
the sausages, etc. The dietician I see recommended it to me as
I am lactose intolerant and had to give up yogurt, milk, etc. for
breakfast. I belong to Overeaters Anonymous and have spoken to other
people who also need protein but can't eat dairy products. I just
love it. It taste like pork sausage, spicey but not overly. I
have been thrilled with it! I defrost the roll and slice of 3 oz
and pan fry it in the morning. I can't beliveve it is Turkey! I'm
still losing weight eating this almost every day.
Good luck
Barbara
Hope you enjoy it. I buy mine at Market Basket

| We have tried both the Hillshire Farms and Louis Rich at our house
and even those who aren't concerned with the fat content liked them.
Read the label for sodium content though. The Louis Rich was VERY
high.
