460.0. "Fit for Life?" by OCTAVE::ISLER () Tue May 30 1989 11:56
I recently started reading the book Fit For Life. It is different
certainly, since the writer claims that most common everyday foods
that we eat are not really good for you. For example, meat and
potatoes, cereal and milk, chicken and rice, etc.
The rule is that protein and starch should not be consumed since
the stomach produces acid to digest the first, and alkaline the
second. And since they nutralize each other, the stomach produces
even more, as a result the food does not get digested properly.
Some of this food still remains as toxins in our body, and that's
one reason that people are overweight. The body retains water to
nutrilize the toxins.
Anyway, I don't mean to summarize the book here. This theory makes
sense, sort of. But I am not sure how true it is. What I would like
to know is if anybody has read the book, and got any feedback from
an expert whether it is credible or not.

The book and the eating plan is a scam.
I did a report on it for a class and called it "Fit For Laughs".
