| 450.1 | Tonic water is like any other soft drink - fattening! | DLOACT::RESENDEP | Live each day as if it were Friday | Thu May 11 1989 15:05 | 10 |
| | I know for a fact that tonic water is loaded with calories. I remember
    my surprise years ago when I learned that it contains lots and lots
    of sugar. Doesn't taste like it, does it?

    I'm not totally sure about club soda and soda water, but I believe
    those are both calorie-free, though some contain sodium. Perhaps
    someone can tell us for sure...

| | Club soda is free of calories, but does contain salts/minerals, whatever
you call them. I LOVE the stuff with a wedge of lime.

    guilty!! I know, I know, I should cut out drinking altogether.....

| 450.4 | Try faking it! | DLOACT::RESENDEP | Live each day as if it were Friday | Fri May 12 1989 14:01 | 13 |
| | I too enjoy a drink occasionally. WW actually allows a light beer,
    counted in the optional calories. But I've found another way to
    feel like I've had a "cocktail" before dinner. Have you ever tried
    the Mr & Mrs T's mixes? Well, I keep the little 6-ounce cans of
    their Bloody Mary mix at home. While I'm fixing dinner at night,
    I pour one over ice in a wine glass and pretend I'm having a Bloody
    Mary. The mix is good, *really* good, even without alcohol in it.
    The wine glass makes it seem like a drink, and since the taste is
    good, I find it satisifies that desire most of the time. And for
    only 35 calories or something like that. Try it!
