I saw that show too. It sounded fishy, especially when they
asked the woman who came up with the regimen how it worked.

414.2 | March issue - SHAPE magazine | LDYBUG::GOLDMAN | One day we'll all understand... | Fri Mar 03 1989 08:41 | 8 |

There's an article in the March issue of Shape on Cellulite. It
talked about what it is, and what some of the misconceptions about
it are. I haven't had time yet to read it in detail, but if I get
a chance, I'll enter some of the relevant parts.

| I have the March issue of Shape Magazine and I read the article
on Cellulite - they claim cellulite is regular fat and that weight
control combined with aerobic exericse gets rid of it.....!!
If that's true - why didn't I even see a "slight improvement" with
all the aerobic exercise that I did even when I was at my proper
weight?
I do enjoy reading Shape Magazine - but I bet the author of that
article does not have cellulite (I can't remember if the author
was male or female) - so what do they really know about the problem?
If there is anyone out there who had cellulite and completely got
rid of it via aerobic exercise and normal dieting...let me know!!
Anxiously waiting...

I had a girlfriend who did just that. She lost almost all
the cellulite on her fanny - but it took almost a year.

| Nancy,
How is the program working? Have you seen any improvements like
the show said. I believe they said 3 - 4 weeks before improvement
will be visible? Has there been any? Or do you feel you were cheated?

I see a slight improvement in the front of my thighs - but so far
not a big improvement in the back of the thighs or my butt - I am
not dieting as strictly as the program says (no coffee, alcohol,
etc.) but I am doing the rest. I'll keep you posted as to the
improvements (or disappointments) as I go through this program.

| Q. I have cellulite on my thighs so I bought a cream that claims
to remove it by breaking down toxins and fat. It hasn't. Why?
A. Actually, toxins have nothing to do with cellulite. Cellulite
is just fat that has built up betwen walls of connective tissue.
As you gain weight, the fat cells bulge upward from these confined
spaces, pushing the skin out into a pattern of bumps and puckers.
The only way to get rid of cellulite is to remove fat, through
diet or exercise, or in some cases through the surgical fat-
vaccuuming technique called liposuction.
