Everything you've mentioned sounds great! I am also on the lookout for new
WW products, and my mouth is watering...
Oh, I hope they show up here soon!
You might want to try the frozen raspberry mousse even if you don't like the
mix-it-up version. They have three different "kinds" of chocolate mousse and
they all taste different (mix-it tastes the worst!, the pops are in the middle
but the lowest in exchanges, and the "desserts" are the best but "expensive"
in terms of exchanges, like the chocolate cake, etc.)
Out of curiosity, how big are the brownies (I guess it had to come someday,
but "diet brownies" sounds as silly as "diet chocolate cake" :-)) compared
to the chocolate cake. You can always cut the cake in half (if you have the
willpower...), especially if you're combining it with "ice cream".
The stuffed potatoes and pasta primavera also sound interesting. I always
like to keep a couple of frozen dinners in the freezer for a quick meal.
>The best part is the brownies are only 1/2 bread, 1/2 fruit, and 20
>optional.
I wonder how much it costs to ship these things in dry ice :-)
Has anyone found any of these new products in the Marlboro/Maynard area?
>(if only they'd make a WW vending machine...)
What a thought! The closest we come here is salads and fruit cups, but I
guess that's better than it used to be in the old days...
Thanks for all the information,
Jill

| Sounds like WW makes different foods for different areas. Haven't
heard of any of the foods mentioned. However, have made my own
stuffed baked potatoe by using a small baked potatoe then spreading
on 1 TBL WW Port Cheese spread and adding some cooked broccoli.
It's good!
Where do you find a good WW selection in Framingham/Ashland area?
Shaw's in Ashland seems to carry lots of the same things, haven't
seen the Mexican food that was advertised on T.V. 6 months ago.
Has anyone else.

in Nashua, NH. Haven't tried it yet, but it looks good.

| I had the WW Baked Potato with broccoli and cheddar for dinner last
night. It was good...
I actually would have preferred a little more broccoli and just
a little less cheddar sauce, but that's just me.
I also bought the Chicken Divan Baked Potato, but I haven't tried
it yet.

358.5 | Browine size, etc. | COOKIE::WILCOX | | Mon Sep 26 1988 14:43 | 22 |
| re .1 The brownies are about 2.5"x1" and are topped with a few
chopped walnuts. Also have a few chocolate chips in the middle.
They're good warmed in the microwave.
I tried the frozen raspberry mousse and didn't care for it much,
but then, I like the mix-it-up chocolate the best of the chocolates
(so much for my taste!). It might also be that I needed to let it
sit and thaw instead of micro-thawing. The berries stayed frozen.
The other thing I forgot about was chicken fettucini. It's really
good. I would agree that more brocholli and less "cheese" (that
color can't be naturally occuring) would be better on the potato.
For a real treat, I like to melt one tablespoon of super chunk peanut
butter in the microwave and pour it over a serving of the chocolate
ice milk. If you're really into hoarding exchanges, you might also
put a graham cracker in the bowl and slice a banana on top.
(thank goodness it's lunchtime!)

358.6 | Stop and Shop in Milford has them all | HYEND::LJOHNSON | | Mon Sep 26 1988 16:11 | 15 |
| Re. 2
Mary I have found a wide variety of the WW frozen foods
in the Super Stop and Shop in Milford, MA. (not far from
Ashland). I have tried the brownies and they are excellent!
I haven't tried the stuffed potatoes yet, but they are on my
list for next week. They have the mexican dinners too.
WW desserts have helped me through the first 3 weeks of
Weight Watchers, they're worth the exchanges cuz you know
you aren't cheating because you don't have to guess how
many exchanges are in each special treat.

| Add another vote for the Chicken Fettucini! I had it for dinner
last night and, aside from being a bit saltier than my taste (almost
everything is...), it was fantastic!

| RE. 2
Stop and Shop on Rt. 20 in Marlboro has the mexican entrees, the
brownies, the WW ice cream, not sure about potatoes. Stop and Shop
on Temple St in Framingham has similiar foods but long checkouts.
Star on Rt. 20 also has a lot of WW products. Farm Stand, Big D,
and Purity Supreme don't have enough selection.

358.9 | More WW Items - Shaw's in Ashland | BPOV02::SKOWRONEK | | Wed Sep 28 1988 12:15 | 24 |
|
I was at Shaw's in Ashland last week, and noticed that they not
only carry the WW frozen dinners and deserts, but they also carry
WW Spaghetti sauce, WW Coffee Creamer, WW Hot Chocolate, WW Sweetner,
WW Cheddar cheese (shredded and block), and a few more WW products
that I never knew WW had. It might be worth it to check them out,
they are expensive, but they are on the program. I will also assume
that most Shaw's carry these items.
Also, if you are really into sweets, you might want to try ALBA
77. It is made to fit the WW program and it tastes great. I usually
have the shake - I take 1/2 cup cold water, 1 package of Alba 77,
and 1/2 cup of ice and throw it all in a blender and it makes a
great shake - and it only costs 1 milk exchange. There are a few
other ideas on the package that are worth checking out.
Well, thats all I have for now . . . .
Good luck shopping !

358.10 | Thanks | AKOV12::PIMENTEL | | Thu Sep 29 1988 17:17 | 13 |
| Thanks everyone for the where to buy a variety of WW Dinners.
Debby, I know that Shaw's in Ashland carries all the "goodies" but
their selection of frozen dinners leaves something to be desired.
I might save you some money by telling you to skip the WW popcorn
as it only yeilds 1 cup, if that, in the microwave (supposed to
be 2 cups.)
I do have to add the the WW food has improved 100% over the years
and it doesn't taste like "diet" food.

358.12 | New yogurt from WW | COOKIE::WILCOX | Database Systems/West | Mon Mar 20 1989 13:05 | 13 |
| Just discovered a new WW yogurt, not frozen, but thought I'd mention
it in this note anyhow. It's called Ultimate 90, contains 90 calories,
is sweetened with Nutrasweet, and counts as 1 milk and 10 optional!
No fruit exchange to count!! Now, I tried the strawberry over the
weekend when I had all but lost my sense of taste (got a bad cold)
and it seemed good, but I wasn't sure. I had my hubby taste it and
he said it was good. He generally doesn't like anything sweetened
with other than sugar, so maybe his is a good recommendation.
Happy eating,
Liz

been eating the blueberry yogurt and I like it a lot, but I have
heard the lemon is great. Unfortunately, I have not been able to
find the lemon flavored one at the store.

Have you tried the Yoplait 90? How does the WW Ulinmate 90 compare?
I really love the Yoplait, but I wish it came in more flavors -- I've
only seen strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, and strawberry-banana.
Yoplait regular used to come in lemon; it was great!

358.16 | New ice cream treats | COOKIE::WILCOX | Database Systems/West | Thu Aug 17 1989 13:05 | 17 |
| Thought I'd critique a couple more "new" WW products that I just found
at King Sooper's in Colorado Springs.
First, the Peanutbutter Fudge bars. Not too good IMHO. You have to
keep in mind that I'm a PB and Chocolate freak, Reese's cups are a
FAVORITE. These just didn't cut it. They're ok, but not anything I
would probably buy again. Good news is they are only 1/2 milk, 1/4 fruit
and 10 optional.
Next, the Pecans and Prailine ice cream - OUTSTANDING (IMHO, of course).
Now this stuff is good! Creamy, lots of flavor, and chunky stuff just
like it should be. It's a fruit, 1/2 milk, and 20 optional.
Happy eating!

| -< WW Frozen Chocolate Mousse Bars: >-
-< Good Eats, Crummy Packaging >-
And a complaint.
WW frozen Chocolate Mousse bars are absolutely delicious; there
may be no better way to spend 35 calories (or the fractions
of WW exchanges).
BUT, they now package the bars 2-to-a-wrapper, so that there is
almost no way to avoid having two of them instead of just 1. This
seems to have been some sort of cost-cutting measure by whoever
makes the stuff (Heinz?), but WW should have vetoed the idea
before it ever got to consumerland.

358.18 | Breakfasts!! | COOKIE::WILCOX | Database Systems/West | Tue Oct 03 1989 18:48 | 23 |
| Announcing, Weight Watchers frozen breakfasts! My opinion of the following:
1) The Canadian "egg McMuffin". Very good! Is an English muffin, cheese,
some kind of egg stuff (may be real scrambled egg), and slice of Canadian
bacon. I think this ranks right up there with the real thing, and I like
it a lot. If I remember correctly, it's only 1.5 bread, 1.5 protein,
and 20 optional.
2) The sasuage biscuit. Also pretty good. Is a biscuit with sausage patty.
I didn't like it as well as the other, but maybe if I added some sharp
cheese it would be a little better.
3) The pancakes. Come in 3 varieties (that's I've found). One has "sasuage"
links, the others are strawberry and blueberry. I've only tried the
strawberry. I didn't feel it was worth the 1.5 bread and 1 fruit. It would
do in a pinch, but wasn't real good. Small pancakes, fruit not real good.
Happy eating!
Liz
ps, found them at Albertson's

358.23 | Fat update, etc. | COOKIE::WILCOX | Database Systems/West | Mon Oct 09 1989 11:35 | 20 |
| OK, here's what I jotted down.
The Canadian bacon "McMuffin" has 8 grams fat, 1 saturated. Cost is $1.36
I compared it to the Swanson brand and it has 1/2 the fat of that one!
The Sasuage biscuit has 11 grams fat, 2 saturated, also $1.36.
The pancakes and "sasuage" have 10 grams fat, 1 gram saturated. It's cost
is $1.82
I noted that there is also French toast, and there are shelf tags for
banana nut muffins and blueberry muffins though they don't appear to
have arrived yet.
In addition, I've tried the sirloin tips in mushroom sauce - I'd buy it again
chicken cordon bleu - I'd buy it again
garden lasagne - I'd buy it again
and I do't remember what the last one was called, but it's sliced beef in
some kind of sauce. I think I'd pass on this one.
