354.1 | Replay your successes | COOKIE::WILCOX | | Wed Sep 14 1988 14:19 | 21 |
| Ann, I used to find it terrible to get back on track after traveling
at company expense for a week - afterall, they're paying me to eat
great! I will never forget the last time I did this. I was back
east for Rdb field test training and literally ate my way from one
end of the Burlington mall to the other. Started with one each of
the brownies/cookies from whatever the little deli store there is,
went to Legal's for din-din which would not be complete without
onion strings (fried, of course) and ended up at the bakery in
Jordan Marsh (or was it Lord and Taylor?). I had another team
member along and we both did this.
My personal advice is just don't beat youself up about it. The fact
is, you want to get back on track, that's why you wrote. Replay
some of your success stories like the time you resisted that
triple layer chocolate cake or those deep fried mushrooms with
sour cream. Relish (pickle?) your past successes and project that
onto the present. And, reply the grossout times, like the one
above.

| It's not soooo bad getting back on track. But there seems to be
a sort of delayed reaction with me. Eat really well for a week -
and _still_ lose some weight - but the week after, Oh dear!!!
Starve, exercise, what you will, the pounds won't go!!! It seems
to take a while to get one's system back to burning off the fat.
But perhaps i have a funny metabolism... :-)

| I know what you mean......I went to Bermuda this summer too! The
food was greaaaaat! Just remember there are a lot of holidays coming
and it's better to conserve on those calories now before we go on
our next eating binge! I guess this works for me.....I plan for
my next big cheat.
Good luck!

| I just got back from 3 weeks in the States on holiday. I decided
not to "diet" while away, but to try not to put weight on, and to
my complete amazement I cam back exactly the same weight as when
I left.
However I am having trouble getting back into the swing of dieting
again, and as I am seeing results now, smaller clothes etc I really
want to keep it up (or down). I think its true if you binge you
just have to start again a forget, day by day is what I try to do.
