182.0. "Happy New Year" by SRFSUP::GOLDSMITH (Los Angeles shakes me up...) Fri Jan 01 1988 02:22

    Hi There!

For those of you that have been wondering what happened to me, I
thought I would post this New Years Message.

I have kept off 80 of the 100 pounds I lost last year, unfortunately,
after losing a large amount of weight, some of my other bad habits came
creeping in and through a real damper on the whole matter.

But, after a lot of turmoil in my personal life, I can truly say
    that things are looking up.

I have this New Year thought for you...

When making your New Years resolutions, think first what exactly
you are resolving to do. "I will lose all of my extra weight.",
"I will learn to eat right.", and "I'll fit into a size 'n'." tend
to be more promises of perfection rather than promises of progress.

Don't set yourself up for disappointment. Try resolving to get involved
with a program if you are not already. Or resolve to pay more attention
to your eating problems. Set some reasonable honest goals for this
New Year and I'm sure you'll find that things will begin to get
better a day at a time. Be patient with your weightloss, it took
a long time to get to the weight you are now. Give yourself some
    time to lose it too.

Just a thought. Have a Healthy, and Happy 1988.

Hello and Happy New Year to you too Neal!

Good to hear from you again. Glad to hear that most of the weight
that you lost last year has stayed off, and that things are getting
back in order in your life.

Also enjoyed reading the sensible, practical advice in your New
    Year's Message.

Hope 1988 is a good year for you.
