In the last week I've burned through all the notes, so if I repeat something I apologize. I've learned a few things in the last two months of my diet and I'd like to share them with all of you. 1. I've been unable to stay at my goal weight of 192. I'm still losing and I'm in week 4 of maint. Why? Because I over-compensate for my intake of food and this is dangerous because I'll pay later. If the body gets used to taking in 1000 cals/day and you don't build up gradually, it begins to store the extras like it used to. So eat properly when you reach your goal, don't undereat out of fear. 2. TV eating is a conditioned response. I eat away from the box now because I found that when I eat in front of the tube I get into a mental frame of mind that says, "you're in front of the TV, time to eat again!!!", and I'm hungry. BTW, Paul.....Do you still live in WB? I now reside in Oakdale. Ken

re .0: Interesting to read your advice under item 1. As someone who will be starting "maintenance" soon (maybe as soon as tomorrow -- stay tuned to the "Progress" note), it's something I'll definitely want to keep in mind. BTW, I no longer live in West Boylston -- however, I did grow up there and my parents still live there. PY |
