72.1 | A new month, a fresh start... | ARGUS::CORWIN | I don't care if I AM a lemming | Wed Jul 01 1987 11:58 | 12 |
| June was my absolute WORST month in my past year of weight watching. For
the first time since I reached goal in January I've gone above my goal by
.5 pound, whereas I had been staying about 1.5-2.5 pounds below for most of
the time.
But today I I want to get serious again. Feeling so bad and discouraged
is not worth the momentary pleasures of eating things I shouldn't.
(please keep reminding me!!!!)

72.2 | Forgive me, fellow Noters.....8^< | ELMO::STAFFON | | Wed Jul 01 1987 13:30 | 18 |
| Okay, okay, okay. I'll admit it. It'll be good to get it off of
my hips! ;^>
June was THE absolute worst time during my eight months of "reshaping"!
I mean, a few of the old britches here are getting a tad bit snug.
And I can't keep blaming it on my schedule. That is NO excuse,
I know.
Today is July 1st, half way through 1987, and I am going to end
this year in a BIG way by getting SMALL(er) and into a size 8-10.
Tonight it is back to the Callanetics, my friend the stationary
bike and salads!!!
On your mark, get set........to win the weightloss race! We're
all winners!!! 8^>

72.4 | Worked for me!!! | AKOV05::GALVIN | ALPHA.......works for me | Wed Jul 08 1987 06:37 | 18 |
| Hi,
I've decided to record my progress so far, I usually don't do much
writing in notes, just read.....but here goes.
For the month of June, I lost 8 lbs., don't ask me how. I started
Weight Watchers on April 2nd and have just hit, as of last Thursday
night, 27 1/2 lbs. total loss. That may seem like a lot to some
people, but to a person who has sooooo much to lose, it's just a
drop in the bucket. But I love it anyways, forever pulling my slacks
up now when before they wwere tight, tight, tight. And I'll tell
you, the compliments are nice too......I guess that's why I'm sticking
to it this time. This notes file is a big help too, in fact, it's
a Godsend.
Hugs, and happy losing.........

72.5 | My diet, she'a doin' fine | CSC32::KACHELMYER | Dave Kachelmyer, VMS/SPACE | Wed Jul 08 1987 18:30 | 8 |
| My weight reduction program appears to be going rather well. I don't
know about the month of June specifically, but I've been at it for
about eight weeks, and have moved 37% towards my goal of reducing from
238 to 190. And, it's been less effort than I expected (I thought it
would be a battle against hunger and old eating habits).

72.6 | summer | SUPER::HENDRICKS | Not another learning experience! | Thu Aug 27 1987 12:04 | 33 |
| Summer is really hard for me -- I love to go places and eat things
in a very spontaneous way that doesn't do my diet any good.
I've been yoyoing for the most part.
In mid-July I joined the New Image Fitness Center in Nashua, and
try to go at least 3 times/week during lunchtime. They have aerobics
and calesthenics classes, Nautilus, sauna, jacuzzi and showers.
I like the instructors a lot -- there's none of that old Gloria
Stevens mentality of "OK girls, let's get gorgeous for those men
in our lives!!" People are clearly there for themselves, and I
like that.
Even though I've been yoyoing, I still made some progress since
I started there -- I'm 11 pounds lighter! I got measured today, and
lost from 1 to 1 1/2" all over. My thighs stayed the same, but they tell
me that's a muscle toning factor.
I enjoy it a lot, and feel good that I can be casual about food
sometimes and still come out ahead.
One day I dipped down to 209, but I am basically plateaued at 212.
209 is a significant number for me because when I was a junior in
high school it was my top weight--I couldn't bear the thought of
hitting 210, went on Dr. Stillman's diet, and lost 60 pounds very
quickly in a couple of months.
I am very anxious to get under 200. That feels like a big milestone.
I'll let people know!

72.7 | Hang in there | WCSM::HOTT | | Mon Sep 07 1987 11:48 | 13 |
| Don't get discouraged, Holly. Summers can be tough. We tend to
socialize more and are tempted more. Just renew that dedication.
That is a big milestone for you and it will feel great when you
accomplish it. Try to set a realistic date for accomplishing it
and strive, strive, strive.
Stick with it. We all know you can do it.
Good luck,
Donna
