62.0. "Stillman Diet Recipes" by SMURF::GANCARZ () Tue Jun 16 1987 11:57
Like some others here, I've had tremendous success with the Stillman
Diet, as compared to "balanced" diets. This past week I'd gone
on a business trip and really pigged out. (And I'd do it again,
too! :-) I gained 4 pounds as a result. However, I jumped back
on the Stillman Diet and lost 3 pounds in 1 day; by the end of today,
which is only my 2nd day back on the diet, I will be back to where
I was before the trip.
The thing is, I can usually only handle the Stillman Diet for 3-4
days at a time. Granted, I generally lose about 4-5 pounds in that
period, but I'd rather lose much more at a time. The problem is
that, even though I like most high protein foods, they all start
to taste the same after a while.
In an earlier note on "fad" diets, Holly mentioned how she used
to mix cottage cheese with cinnamon and sweetener. I tried it today
and it was *terrific*. Does anyone else have any other great recipes
for use with the Stillman Diet? Here's one of my favorites for
starters. It tastes a lot like "buffalo wings":
FLYING BUFFALO BREASTS
Ingredients:
Chicken breast filet (preferably Perdue, as it's lower in calories)
Durkee Pepper Sauce (or cayenne pepper-based sauce)
Old Bay Seasoning (or other poultry seasoning)
Coat the chicken filets with the seasoning followed by the pepper
sauce. Nuke them for the appropriate time in your microwave oven.
Let sit about 3 minutes before serving.
With the Stillman Diet you don't count calories--you eat until you
feel satisfied. However, a very satisfying 1/2 pound serving of
the above will be around 260 calories.

| Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. Cover the chicken filets with wax paper
to prevent spattering in the microwave.
