Does anyone know how many grams of fat, protein, and carbohydrate is recommended for a person to stay healthy? Many diets are low in calories and/or carbohydrates. I want to be sure I'm not overdoing the others. Linda

The ratio is the important factor, according to the American Medical Association and the American Heart Association. Both recommend diets in the follwing ranges: Fat: 40% 20% Car: 40% 50% Pro: 20% 30% The first set of pecentages is close to the average American diet and is OK for most people. The second set is closer to what an ideal diet should be made up of. The actual number of grams required on a daily basis depends largely on your activity level, health, and age. -mike z |
