Yesterday, I have received a strange telephone call from a Karen Davies (British name but a French accent) who works for NTC in France. She was trying to contact someone in Digital Engineering about some embedded Unix code we are writing for them. She spoke to someone at the beginning of May but cannot remember their name. Does any of this ring bells? I contacted our Customer Care people and when they tried to ring her on 0033 1418 60000, their switchboard had not heard of her. Apparently, she rang a colleague of mine about a week ago so I do not think this is a hoax. Richard Griffiths Engineering IS 830-3219

Richard, We are currently a lot of what are called "social engineering" calls of this type in the US from people seeking information. In absence of more information I would treat it as suspect and advise security. Mike (European Voice Services) |
