| The PCM engineering chappies are no longer in dec park,
there's some over in Israel now apparently.
I would suggest customer reference sites are like ly to
be more impressive than ours (I'm not aware of any
large setups in the area internally) but BT would d have
been the customer I would d havee suggested since they
seem to log more console manager calls :-)
sorry... not much help

| PCM is one of the products sold (?) to CA.
I'm sure it is used internally - but those who use it may not have
heard of Notes these days :-(

| PCM was part of the toolset implemented across IS in Europe for internal
systems. I don't know whether PCM is still in use but don't see how the Unix
and VMS system can be remotely managed without it.
UK system management was all done from Newbury.
Possible contacts to ask are:
- Murray Smith (UK CCS Infrastructure manager)
- Peter Hardy (European tools responsibility)
- Clive Little, the UK OMS delivery manager @NEW

| PCM is still used by the Command and Control Center in REO.
We use PCM to manage systems in the U.K. and Ireland.
We currently run PCM on a Unix environment.
Now the Gotcha ....It's got to be one of the most unstable products I use.
It constantly core dumps in Unix, and we currently have a project running to
update and fix some of the problems we are having with PCM.
If I remember we are running V1.6 with a echo patch.
As a systems manager who has used VCS from day one and Also PCM from day one, VCS
still wins as far I'm concerned.....But who am I to judge our ex products !

| Kevin, you're so picky. Just reboot the unix box before you wish to use
it and every 5 minutes until you have finished with it.

No. Microsoft instructions would also require re-installation of the product.

| Greg,
Contact the OMS folks in HHL. They are (I think) using it on a
multimedia server system which we host for BT in London office. Andy
Williams might be th right contact.
