3121.1Just got it.HOTLNE::DOYLESat May 03 1997 20:159
     I got this game, lot's of fun.
     Played against and co-op with my son, we both managed to get smeared
    in co-op against the computer AI.
     Great graphics, Great music. Haven't tried the internet option yet,
    need a little more practice and need to setup my joystick.
     (Just wished it ran under NT)

    The game is fun, but its very hard to score...I managed only to get
    about 40.000 points in one mission.

    Too bad it lacks support of 3D-accelerators :(

    The Internet option is slow, I tested it over the weekend with
    a 28.8k Modem; its also very likely that someone drops out of
    play if 4 people are matching up against each other.

3121.3Gamezone or Kali?HOTLNE::DOYLEMon May 05 1997 04:4216
     I heard that kali has a new patch that lets you play over a kali
    server.
     The response is supposed to be much better than that on the gamezone.
     I know on my home lan it plays quite well with all settings up on high.
     People on the usenet have been complaining about the internet play, as
    well as the single player mode (mostly the latter).
     However, I wasn't expecting cut scenes or a story line with this game,
    so I'm very pleased.
     Also, I guess that rummor has it that a patch will be out for
    incorporating direct3D, (I thought it did that already)

     Wonder when we'll get a mission editor?

3121.4Good game, some sound problems...HUMANE::mcg106.mro.dec.com::arsenaulPaul Arsenault DTN 297-8164Wed May 07 1997 11:2710
I am running XvT on a Starion 930 (100Mhz 16M) and it appears the
Telecommander sound/fax card does not like Directx (there is mention
of problems with the Opti chip in the LucasArts support page).

The problem is I can not control the volume of the music, it is
always loud. With the music off I can hear the sound effects well.
Can you folks control the music volume at the data pad? Also, is
there supposed to be any voices during the mission briefing?

3121.5Some new notesHOTLNE::DOYLEMon May 12 1997 23:0713
    re-
     Yes, I can control the music and the only time you here a human voice
    is when you alter-ego dies. (Screams like a Penubian Pansie) :')
     I tried the Gamezone as well as Kali.
     In the gamezone it was a melee with asteroids, unplayable even with
     good ping times. I'll try turning my graphic settings down and see if
    that helps. Of course the host of the game could of had a crummy
    connection. I'll try hosting my own and see what happens.
     (This was with 4 players by the way).
     The kali game went nicely, with 3 players and no asteroids. An
    occasional hicup with one player with a lousy connection.
      (I only got 4 kills in an X-wing, I felt like a newbie)

3121.6Demo?CHEFS::HARRISONWed May 21 1997 10:405
    Anyone know if a demo has been released yet?

    Any idea how it will play on a Pentium 120 with 16mb mem?
