A new semiconductor R&D facility is moving to the Dallas area soon. The company is Ball Semiconductor. I will be calling on them and would like to understand the technology they are developing. The press release states they will be developing "spherical semiconductors" Can someone help me understand the use for such a technology, and what we Digital can bring to the table (sell!!!) to help them along?

Could this be a hoax? Ball Semiconductor has received some hefty tax abatements. I thought current monolithic wafer technolgy worked best on very flat surfaces. A search on the web of spherical semiconductors only brought up abnormalies in wafer fabrication. | |||||
