198.0. "Nazi Dagger for Sale" by A1VAX::GRIFFIN () Tue May 11 1993 15:04
Moderator... I don't know if this is appropriate here or not. I just
thought there might be a collector in this environment who could be
interested. Feel free to delete if you think it's inappropriate.

Nazi Luftwaffe Dress Dagger ... $225
Here's a rarely seen piece of WW II memorabilia, a dagger
from a Luftwaffe officer's dress uniform.
The dagger is about 15" in length, with a narrow gently
tapered blade.
The hilt-guard is in the form of an eagle? with outstretched
wings, holding a swastika in its claws.
The hilt (handle) itself is made of some type of white
composition material that looks like ivory, and has a
twisted metallic cord running around it in a spiral.
At the top of the handle is a small white-metal? globe
which has a swastika on either side, each surrounded by
an oak-leaf wreath, with three small acorns at the bottom.
The blade has a few slight discolorations which look like
they'd come off with a little metal polish, but I didn't
want to "shine it up" because I figure some purists might
object.
The $225 price I think is reasonable, but I'm not an expert
in Nazi collectibles. I have seen similar material offered
at $400, but I have no idea how inflated a price that was.

198.2 | Sounds OK to me... | HERCUL::MOSER | and baby makes six... | Wed Jun 02 1993 14:27 | 6 |
| Oh, I dunno, seems like a conference frequented by a bunch of reservists would
be a natural place to put an ad like this...
Maybe we should just open a "classified" topic?
