1903.0. "Wrong environmet after shutdown, reboot and login" by SUOIS2::GROSS () Wed Jun 04 1997 14:34

Hello,

a customer has the following problem in D-Unix 4.0B on different HW.

The desktop is switched to Motif / xdm.
When the system is shutdown and rebooted again, the next user that logs in has
the same environment, the user had who shut down the system.
This behaviour stays the same until a user with root permissions logs in.

The Problem is caused by the file /tmp/smdb-:0.0.defaults. Usually this file is
deleted when a X session is stopped. But when the user of this session starts a
shutdown this file still exists when the next user (after boot) logs on again.

Where in the scripts should the file be erased at shutdown time ?
Will there be a fix in a future release ?

Thanks for any suggestions, help.

I suggest you ask in turris::digital_unix instead of here. This
is not really an x question.
