Peyton Manning has the ability and chance to become a franchise QB
in the mold of Marino/Elway/Aikman. Something Neil O'Donnell will never
be. Yes, he signed a 5 yr 25 million dollar contract last year. So you
let him start for 2 years with Manning as the backup. Then either trade
him or cut him, eating the last 2 years of the contract. The Jets also
spent a lot of money on the Offensive Line. So if they take Orlando
Pace they would have the same problem.

| If the Jets are paying big bucks for both Manning and O'Donnell as well
as for Keyshawn Johnson they will have nothing for Offensive and
Defensive lineman and as a result will continue to be bottom feeders.
In today's game you can't afford to pay big $ to two QB's particularly
when they are of uncertain ability.

| Having seen both Peyton Manning and Jake Plummer play several times
each this past season, I believe that Plummer may be the more succesful
QB over time .......

The Parcells Regime begins!
Bill picked up Pepper Johnson for the Jets! Ha! Same old Bill,
raiding the NFL of unwanted ex-Giants. The Jets deserve him,
but best of all, unlike here in NE, there's NOTHING to stop him!

| YUP, here we go with Bill Parcells going after X-giants...I believe
Pepper is 32-33, so now the Jets will become the jets/Giants......
Love to watch to see the picks Parcell does...I will miss him because I
think he was beast at preparing his players, but I think the
infrastructure at NE will over come his loss....If they continue to
pick the right players......
I look for Parcells to continue picking up X Giants....

Actually Pepper Johnson had a pretty good year last year if my
memory serves me right.
But my worry is when Parcells starts going after X-Patriots. The
players had alot of respect for Parcells and when thier contracts
are up they might go over there for the right money. And if the Pats
have a few bad years this might make the coaxing a little easier.

| Actually, Pepper did next to nothing lasted season - it was the year
before that he played well.
I wonder how long it will take before Matt Bahr shows up at the
Meadowlands, since the Tuna already cut Nick Lowery?

Parcells already tried to pick up one of the Patriots players off
the practice squad, I can't remember who it was off hand but he didn't
see alot of playing time, Parcells thought he had alot of potential
and wanted him but the Patriot player (untill I think of his name)
wasn't interrested. Just one of many attempts I'm sure.....

It was reserve OL J.R. Conrad.

| JR Conrad is the OL from the practice squad that BP was after.
According to today's Globe he's also after Otis Smith, Troy Brown and
Ferric Collons but he needs to clear up cap money. I don't think that
losing the first 2 would be a loss but Collons came out of nowhere and
played solid at the end of the year. The Pats get first refusal on him.
I wonder if Bill will give him a 1 mill one year contract? Wait until
McGinnest becomes a free Agent and Parcells goes after him.
A side note but who else caught Curtis Martin escorting Toni Braxton to
the Grammy's.

I don't know. I think that losing Troy Brown would be a loss.
He's a good special teams player, and he's the only other receiver
capable of catching the ball other than Glenn.

Troy Brown played well this year I thought, he made some good
catches including that big one on his back for a 1st down I believe
it was. I'd say he's a keeper especially since Brisby's an unknown
right now, who's to say how he'll be or play next season.
