A customer of mine need to use CICS for Digital Unix using the following configuration : - 1 Development System - 1 Production System Reading the SPD I suppose he need - 1 Cell Server License (Development) - 1 Server License (Production) but I'm a little bit confused. Could anyone help me to understand which are the correct licenses and where they should be installed ? Thanks in advance and Ciao Danila

178.1 | Need two Cell Server licenses | RDGENG::SMITHI | Tue Apr 15 1997 11:33 | 14 | |
The difference between the Cell Server and Server licenses is the SFS (Structured File Server) component. In an environment where two production systems are using the same SFS then only one Cell Server and one Server license are required. However, most systems will require, or benefit from, their own SFS so we recommend the use of the Cell Server on every system. In this case where the systems are being used independently (one for production and one for development) SFS must be run on each system - two Cell Server licenses are required. iain |
