1868.0. "error in passmgmt when installing pwosf 6.1 eco2" by TAV02::YORAM (Yoram Finder ISO, DTN:882-3073) Wed Jun 04 1997 05:58
Hi,
I'm trying to install PWOSF v6.1 ECO-2 on UNIX v4.0B. The system doesn't
contain a previous version of PWOSF. The system include /etc/passwd & /etc/group
that was copied from a V3.2 UNIX that did contain PWOSF v5.0x. The first
attempt failed because group "auth" was missing. I deinstalled the kit add this
group and removed all LANMAN accounts from /etc/passwd (lanman, lmxadmin...).
Now I get error from "passmgmt" and invalid value for "-u". I think it fail to
add "lanman" account. I saw old notes on
this problem but as you can see I'm installing the latest kit.
The system is also configured to with Yellow Pages.
I must add that I did managed to install the kit on this system before they add
the Yellow Pages and before they copied the /etc/passwd & /etc/group files from
the old system. I'm afraid that they copied some more files that cause the
installation to fail. After installing the kit the first time, I deinstalled it
then they copied all the files from the old system, rebuilt the kernel and only
then I tried to reinstall PWOSF.
Any help will be appreciated.
