I've installed Pathworks 6.1 on a 2100. The win95 clients can see the shared directories and files, but when they run a Win app (i.e. Word) the applications seem to hang when they attempt to save to the shared directories. I have the same set up in my office on a Alpha 200 and I have no problems. Are there any known causes for this? [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

We've run alot of MS-Office tests against a 2100 and haven't seen any problems with them hanging. There are known problems with saving files to a share with Office apps that are fixed in 6.1A. The save would fail, not just hang. They should upgrade to 6.1A. Julia | |||||

It was real strange. I was able to read and write to the PW shared directory from a Win95 machine using NotePad, but when I tried to save using either MS Word or the Write applett the saves failed (the application hung). The document would be entered in the directory, but subsequent attempts to read them failed. So we Upgraded to PW OSF 6.1A and it all worked. Almost all. See next posting...... Thanks again for you help. [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] |
