Hello, Here is another (new) BUG with Pathworks Unix V6.1x. Read-only tree files from NT (3.51, 4.0) cannot be copied into Pathworks shares. At the beginning the dirname is created into pwks share and keeps its original right access (read-only) then the first file of the dir cannot be copied into because the parent dir is read-only.....:-( From WIN95 no problem. Typically arrives when you want to copy files from CDROM (of your NT machine) to Pathworks Server and in this case we can't reset attribut on source files. Tested with ECO1,ECO2,V6.1a Time for IPMT any volunter ? Jean-Pierre

This is already qar'd. In a native Microsoft environment, the read only attibute prevents a file from being edited or deleted, but does not prevent it from being copied. It looks like the problem is with the lanman.ini parameter unixdirchk. This parameter should allow clients to write to unix system directories that do not have write permissions. The default is 1. 1 = allows writing to directories belonging to or created by PW as determined by the DOS-??? group ownership. Qar #923. Julia |
