We are running PATHWORKS V5.0D on VMS 6.2. Our PCs running WFWG 3.11 with NetBui and TCP/IP can access shared services and printer queues without any problem. However, our PCs running Windows95 with NetBui/Tcpip w/o PWRK95 can only see the server from WORKGROUP and failed to access shared services and printer queues. The error messages displayed "The network has responded incorrectly". However, PCs running Windows95 have no problem to access PATHWORKS server on ULTRIX. We'd appreciate suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem. Thanks in advance.

1. >can only see the server from WORKGROUP most likely don't have a browsemaster 2. >and failed to access shared services and printer queues. The error >messages displayed "The network has responded incorrectly". and most likely don't have a valid license for 1, set the workgroup of (at least) one WfW/95/NT system (with the same protocols as the server and with file/print sharing enabled) to the same thing as the server's domain name. for 2, use PW32 (or PW/95) or the FPA kit to obtain a valid license for your clients. See the multitude of notes on licensing. |
