    The customer has twelve new pc's which he has to configure he cannot
    get anymore v6 licenses since they are no longer sold what he has now
    is a PWXXWINAT07.00 which he has loaded.Now what happens is with the
    license components from the eco2 pw win95 kit he gets the license but
    browsing fails with "the network has responded incorrectly" and doing 
    a map network drive gives "error 58 this operation cannot be performed
    by the specified server" if we go to the DOS BOX a "net view \\server"
    fails also with error 58, but they can do a net use to file and printer
    shares and use them.On the server side messages in the ADMIN/ANAL are
    "this client is not license to manage the server".So were is the
    problem is it that he does not have the proper license or does the 
    server have the problem?

	He does not have the proper license. PWXXWINAT07 _ONLY_ grants the right to use the client software. See the extensive discussion on this in (all?) the PATHWORKS notesfiles especially JAMIN::PATHWORKS32 and in the recent Sales Update magazine and a TIMA/STARS article (search the PATWORKS database for "LICENSE MARCH" and http://simba.alf.dec.com/desk/archive.htm and probably other places as well...

	Basically what license does he need, he does not want to use the pathworks client sftwr at all on the pc he only wants to have the pc's connect to the server.I would appreciate the name of the PAK also.

	The customer has some old v5 licenses pwlmdoscc05.00 and someone said you should be able to use these since we want only FPA access and since to licenses conatain a built-in FPA.

	all those that John mentions contain the right needed. If they were purchasing new licenses, the smartest thing to do would be to get the FPA - it grants only that right and is the least expensive.

PATHWORKS V5.0 for OpenVMS (LAN Manager) PWLMVMSCU05.00 PATHWORKS V5.0 for DIGITAL UNIX (LAN Manager) PWLMOSFCU05.00 These licenses are available in various sizes and allow a fixed number of client systems to connect at one time. No additional software is needed on the client machine when using these licenses.
