2140.0. "TSA error message." by VAXRIO::63222::Manoel () Fri Apr 18 1997 18:52

	Hi, folks.

	I have a Digital Unix machine v4.0a with Networker v4.2a as a
server for networker product.
In the network I got a PC with Novell 4.10 and Legato's Client
Networker for Novell version 4.1
When you manipulate the tape devices from the main administration
screen from server side, you can see all ocurrencies taking place in the
client window as messages, notifying about mounted and unmounted tapes.
So, at least server (Unix) and client (Novell) are talking a
little.
When I tried to setup a backup operation to save the contents of
f:\ from client Novell to /dev/nrmt1h in Digital unix machine, it started
to save index and boostrap information, but at the end there was a
message like:

savegroup notice:novo completed, 2 clients (teste failed)

Then I tried from the command line "savegroup -c teste "novo",
this time comes out the folowing messages.

 teste:all\ asavegrp: authtype rsh
teste:all\ Backup: Cannot make TSA connection to default NetWare server
Invalid name or password, connection limit exceeded, or TSA unavailable.

The awfull thing is that it says connection to Netware server,
but in fact it should be a connection to a Netware client !
From server side in client setup screen I defined a remote user
and a password, as it was defined in Netware side, and TSA is loaded in
Novell machine.
I'm probably skipping something about the Novell configuration,
can someone point me what ? Any tips, guide lines !!!!
Thanks in advance for any help.
	Regards.

Hi, folks

        Finally it worked.
The culprit was the sintaxe in the remote user field in client setup
screen in NSR product from DIGITAl Unix side.
One should answer an account Novell name followed by a dot and
the context Novell name.
This account has to be created in Novell side without password and
with admin privileges.
        Thanks anyway.
