Hi,
I have a customer who are using diskless w/station in which boot
from Novell 3.12 server. Users are accessing WFW 3.11 from the
the server. But when user try to print thru the diskless w/station,
the printer print out garbage.
The setting for print queue and print server are correct, because
normal pc could print normally and the diskless w/station could print
normally too under dos environment. the printout is distorted when
users try to print under windows environment. The location of printer
temp file have been set to f: drive.
Any solution on how to solve the problems ? Please help !!!!
Thank you.

| 2139.1 | do you have the right Win printer driver? | NETCAD::ROLKE | The FDDI Genome Project | Tue Apr 15 1997 13:19 | 13 |
What kind of printer do you have? If you have a straight text printer you could just copy files to it as a test. From a DOS box copy abc.txt lpt1: This should print out ordinary text on a plain text printer. I'm assuming you are connected to the server through LPT1:. If this works then you probably have an incorrect driver configured for Windows. From the Control Panel->Printers see what you have and make sure that is correct. Chuck | |||||

Hi,
The printer is a network printer which is connect to a workstation.
For diskless workstation's users, they could print in DOS prompt,
if printer were to connect to the workstation LPT port, print job
could be printed out too (both in Dos and WFW).
For PC's users, print job has no problem to print out thru the same
queue in both environment.
Problem only occurred when the diskless workstation try to print to
the network printer in the WFW.
Please help !!!!!
Thank you.

| 2139.3 | Tab problem ?? | UTRTSC::LAMBERTS_H | Thu Apr 17 1997 05:37 | 12 | |
Hi,
could be that it is the tab conversion problem.
(the tab gets converted into a number of spaces, graphic ducuments will
print out as garbage)
If you use the capture statement add the NT option.
And un-tag the enable tabs square in the windows print manager.
Greetings, Hans Lamberts
