1522.0. "Loose power to network card when portable goes portable" by LORDS::COLE (Share and enjoy) Wed Mar 05 1997 09:48

I have a HiNote Ultra 475 running NT V4 and it has a Xircom PCMCIA network
card in it.

I have a problem when I disconnect the battery charger. The network keeps on
working until I close the lid when the power to the network card is turned
off. Opening the lid and/or plugging the mains adapter back in does not restore
power the PCMCIA card.

Somewhere in the BIOS there is a setting for the PCMCIA card in:

Power > Advanced > PCMCIA socket power in suspend

and it is set to :

AC power On Battery power Off

Now I do not want the card powered when the AC is not connected but I do want
the card to come back to life when the AC is restored.

Is there a solution to my problem or will I have to re-boot ad nausium?

Many thanks,

Simon
