346.0. "Sweet, Sweet Poetic Justice" by CSC32::HADDOCK (Saddle Rozinante) Wed Mar 15 1995 08:07
Well here's something that may give some hope to the down-trodden
masses this morning :^).
During my odyssey through the courts, at one time I had as a lawyer
one C. Dennis Maes. C. Dennis turned out to be one of the worst of
the good-ol'-boy legal system. I will always feel that my kids had
to spend three more years in hell because of him.
A couple years later I found out why C. Dennis Maes was playing
the good-ol'-boy game so hard. He was appointed to the Colorado
District Court in Pueblo County. In Colorado, Judges are appointed
by the Governor on the recommendation of a "panel" heavily loaded
with good-ol'-boys.
Last year, C. Dennis Maes was nominated for a position as a Federal
Judge. I've been wondering just how I could mount a campaign
against his appointment. Well, in this morning's paper, there
is a big article that C. Dennis's nomination has been withdrawn
by by the White House. His honor says it's in retaliation for
the defection of Ben Nighthorse Campbel to the Republican party.
The White House says it's because he is NOT QUALIFIED. For once
I have to agree with Bill Clinton. You live by the good-ol'-boy,
you die by the good-ol'-boy.
