    The new MA "DEADBEAT DADS LAW" is summarized in the Boston Glob today. 
    To wit: if someone (read "male") is found to have wilfully not paid
    _all_ child support that person has comitted a Felony.  Also, all of
    your licenses (car, pilot, etc) can be confiscated and the State can go
    directly after your tax returns, employers, etc.
    
    BTW, a felony besides prison and a fine usually means loss of all firearms,
    voting privs, professional licenses PERMANENTLY.
    
    IMHO, this will ultimately lead to an increase in people immediately
    leaving their families and paying NO support whatsoever (since, if you
    do you can be traced) and an increase in fatal violence (from further
    frustration, powerlessness, nothing more to lose, etc.)
    
    The continued, increased injection of the criminal system into highly
    emotionally charged domestic situations can only lead to the ruin of
    many, many lives.  Most sadly,  those of the children involved.
    
    One of the saddest things about this new law is the extent to which a
    lot of pols are triumphantly bragging about it.  -- they should have to
    go through a divorce and the "legal system" like 'regular people'.  I
    think that we would see a dramatic change in attitude.
    
    Until then, we had all better move to Montana.

    As a father who loves his children it is very difficult to react
    to the new law without lots of anger!!   When will laws be passed 
    to make it a felony when custodial (90%) moms skip town withour
    children!!  There are two sides to this issue and the press only 
    presents the irresponsible father side!!   The moral integrity of
    custodial moms who move out of town with our children is at the
    same level as any father who can but refuses to pay child support!
      Moms and Dads who are responsible, lets get together and address
    ********Both******* sides of this issue in the media and political
    process!!

    Still unfair... they get the money, and dont even have to
    claim it !! Child Supportthat is, but yet we have to claim it
    then list as a debt on loan applications...
    
    Now its a feloney, heck make it tax deductable and maybe just maybe
    it will seem more fair !! She writes off my daughter AND the house
    and I get screwed every year in taxes and she dont even claim the
    600.00 a month she gets......
    
    THIS HAS GOT TO CHANGE

    As bad as I hate politics and special interest groups, men are
    going to have to start playing the game.  Maybe this will be the 
    straw that finally makes enough men mad enough to ban together into 
    a political force that will cause some real change.  It's finally 
    gotten to bad to ignore.

    Hey Snake...quit bitchin...why do you think I look so bad for my age ?
    :) . My support will be paid up in June if Jen doesn't decide to go on
    with her schooling. I'd like one support free check before being
    TFSO'd....ah.......................at least I'm in the last segment of
    my payments, it's the guys with the real young children that are in bad
    situations that I feel for.......now someone rich like you.....
