208.0. "NCP Support Groups" by MRKTNG::BROWN_K (KEN BROWN DCC/CIS DESKTOP CONSULTANT) Mon Apr 20 1992 15:55
I have wanted to ask this question for some time.
I have seen a lot of activity concerning NCP Support Groups.
I have seen where these meetings are conducted on a bi-monthly
or weekly schedule. I have attended several different meetings and
have always walked away slightly annoyed. As the majority of these
meetings were ex busting. There didn't seem to be a solidarity
towards a common goal, working out a common goal of changing the
legislative rat holes that exist for divorce, support and custody.
I don't have the answers to running "the succesful" meeting either.
Has anyone been involved with a group, who have been able to get the
ear of a Legislative person, a candidate, or a Judge to help them
understand the problems the NCP has to endure? And then follow
through to get something addressed, within a legal system.
From my personal side, I have never seen a group success story,
where an NCP group were able to demonstrate the "other side".
There are many studies, but all negative towards the NCP.
Has anyone heard, read or been involved in any of these success
stories?
Ken
