I don't know if this is the right place for this, but can't
find anywhere more appropriate.
I visited my kids recently for the first time is 17 months,
they live in Ireland and this trip was CHEAP, only cost
about $1,000.
Anyway, since I was only going to be seeing them for 3
days I wanted to make the most of it so I got as many books
on dealing with kids and divorce as I could.
There is a good, readable, soft back book which I found
well worth reading. Seems like it's brand new, co-written
by two people who spent a long time interviewing a lot
of kids who have been through divorces:
Divorced Kids
Laurene Johnson and Georgelyn Rosenfeld.
Thomas Nelson Publishers
ISBN 0-8407-3174-4
Only about $8.75 and well worth it, I found. I used some
of what I learnt in speaking with my kids and found it helped
me a lot.

| I have a copy of the "History and Fundamentals of Child Support
Enforcement, 2nd Edition". This is written towards being a primer for
someone who is starting in the bureaucracy dealing with this area, eg.
Human Services, judicial, finance, caseworkers, enforcement people, in
the United States (although some of the principles and approaches may
apply to other countries).
Chapter titles are (these are all direct quotes):
1 The Child Support Enforcement Problem
2 Organizational Structure of the Child Support Enforcement Program
3 The Intake Process
4 Locating Absent Parents
5 Paternity Establishment
6 Assessment of Child Support Obligations
7 Establishing an Order of Support
8 Enforcing Child Support Orders
9 Collection and Distribution of Child Support
Appendix: Legislative History of Child Support Enforcement
The total length of the manual is 145 pages.
It is guaranteed that there is something in here that will open ANYONE's
eyes, even those who have done a lot of digging in the laws and
regulations.
I will be glad to make a copy of this for anyone who would like one.
Please send me a mail message and include your physical address.
