| Here is my trip report from Owens River Gorge:
July 22: Climbed at Owens River Gorge. The climbing at Owens River
Gorge is the best climbing that I have done in my life. Climbed "High Seas"
5.7, "Crowd Pleaser" 5.8, "Babushka" 5.8, "Welcome to the Gorge" 5.9 and
"Ambassadors of Funk" 5.10b, route finding is very important on this
climb, I got stuck in several places and had to take a take. The second pitch
is similar to the Gunks with two roofs to pull over. You think the crux
is over after the first roof, however the second roof is waiting there to spit
you out. I had to take a hang on this roof to find the secret foot hold.
July 23: Climbed "Child of Light" 5.9, "China Doll" 5.8, "Sendero
Luminoso" 5.10b this was a wild climb up and around an arete with lots of scary
moves above the bolts and "Show Us Your Tits" 5.10b, this was a pumpy climb
and I did not get it clean.
July 24: Climbed "Stella" 5.8, "For Patricia" 5.7, "Giveaway" 5.9,
this is one of the best aretes that I have climbed and "Sparky the Drillhead"
5.10a, I could not get the crux move so I had to grab the sling to make
the move.
July 25: Climbed "P.D. Time" 5.7, "Lava Java" 5.8 and "Clip Jockey"
5.9, bring a sling to lasso the anchors as the last move is way about the
last bolt and scary. Also climbed "Pippy the Zenhead" 5.9 and attempted
"Gorgeous" 5.10a, this climb was my nemesis as I back off of it twice.
July 26: Climbed "Forbes 40" 5.8, "Heart of the Sun" 5.9, "Enter the
Dragon" 5.7 and "Tsing Tao" 5.10a, this climb should be stick clipped. Also
made another attempt on "Gorgeous".
July 27: Checked out the Buttermilk Boulder area and also visited the
Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, which contains the oldest living trees in the
world.
July 28: Climbed again at Owens River Gorge. Climbed "Coming
Attractions" 5.8, "Low Octane" 5.9, "Abitarot" 5.10a, "Fear of a Black Planet" 5.10a
and attempted "Holocaust" 5.10b.
