It's not that I wouldn't let whoever I was dating at the time watch
"THE GAME" but it drives me crazy. Most of time when the "guys" get
together to watch the "game" they all drink and act like idiots. If
it's just my boyfriend then that's a different story.

If they are not being violent or damaging anything, It might help to
view it as a bit of "letting off steam" guy-style. If they were
actually at the game and doing those things, they are called "fans".
If you are by yourself, it isn't worth the effort. But such behavior
does give a bit more "atmosphere" of "being there".
Btw, a little trivia--fan: the original designation was a "crank". As
in "crank up the team". Certain mechanical devices in those days
required a crank to operate or get them started. A "fan" is a "crank"
going around so fast it looks like a fan.
