What we should do is find out why men die 6 yrs younger (ave.) than women
and help men to live longer!
Anybody know why men average six years less than women?

No -- part could be life style, but part of it is apparently genetic.

| I knew a man who married a woman twenty years older. His family and friends
were horrified, and predicted disaster. Thirty years later, the couple was
doing fine.

| I had a female friend whose husband was much younger than her - perhaps 10
years, but I don't recall specifically. Ellen (not her real name) is a
psychotherpist (Ph.D.), and when I asked her about the age difference, she
replied, "You know, it used to be thought that men matured later in life
then women, but more recently it has been found that, actually, they never
mature at all. So, what the hell."
:-)
True story.

men don't live as long as women do is because they have more stress
on them, & all you guys know what I mean.
I am going way, way back when it was all the guys responsibility
to be the sole provider. This caused their tickers to give out long
before thier due time.
Ok everyone, attack that!
enjoy.

| I was married to an older woman by six years.
I don't think it had much to do with the termination of the relationship.
After a relationship with a woman with a similar age difference I'm not looking
to get into anything like that again. Although I did meet a rather attractive
woman who is about 13 years older than me.
Anyway. I'm not sure it's age difference that matters. It's more down to
communication and addressing issues and the such.

I tend to agree with you on that point. I would like to add that
men probably (read I'm not sure but what the hell) have had access to
excesses, ie. tobacco, alcohol, cocaine and other nasty narcotics, when
women have not. As I write this I am thinking that it was quite common
for a woman to die during pregnancy particularily delivery. Men die
in droves during war though, I dont know. I thought the gap was
closing, that is, women are dying younger these days?
I just ended a relationship with an older woman ( only four years ) and
now I am looking for a woman maybe 7 or 8 years older. Older women seem
to be more comfortable with their bodies (30yrs +). I cant stand a
woman on a diet. Get used to it or get over it.

| Feeling is the only thing that should matter.
Easy to say, but hard to live.
I'm living now the opposite problem (see 179) and I'm worried mainly
about the social problems a GREAT difference of age brings up.
I'd set a GREAT difference as a 5 year older woman or a 10 year older
man, as woman do live more, but look older earlier.
I do have a friend that's 42 years old. She's a aerobics teacher, and
she does look very good. But her face shows up her real age. This friend
is always dating someone 10 years younger. But she tells me the social
problems, on special other woman that think that the guy cannot be her
boyfriend and make passes on him. Or people that asks "Is she your
sister?". Social expectations are hard to change.
The difference of age brings at the end the same problems racism do. I
have another friend (53) that kept her relationship with a black guy
hidden from everybody for 15 years! Sometimes you don't go out with
your loved "older sister" because you know people will be looking at
your direction or making comments. But you love her anyway. In private.
The last one I know, she's 36 and don't have a boyfriend. She looks much
younger and have a strong sex drive. So, she usually dates younger guys
that can have the strength or the interest to be with her all the time
she needs. And she seems to need a LOT of time before she gets tired.
Some guys get scared with her... :-)
So, it seems to be a matter of being sure of what's good to you. If you
don't get ashamed at any situation, go ahead. If, like myself, you are
not sure, keep hearing advices until you can build your own view of the
subject deep inside yourself.
Ham.
