I was walking down the street with a friend. There where tall pines
to our right, about 20 feet in height, and then about 30 feet beyond
the pines there was a metal barrel. I picked up a rock and told
my friend "Over the trees and in the barrel". Clang!!!!!

| When we were kids, vacationing in Vermont, my brother and I had a few
firecrackers that we were tossing, and I made the mistake of pointing out a
small knothole in a tree and betting my brother he couldn't lob one in there.
He did.
Tree caught fire ... had hollow roots ... fire popped up various places and we
had to call in the volunteer fire department to haul its equipment up the
mountain to put it out. Cost my father a few hundred dollars...

| In the wild old days of the wooly-wooly woods of Milford New Hampshire.
I was out running, of all times, a lightning storm apeared from no
where. A bolt of lightning came out of the sky. Zapped a tree that fell
as I step from under its fall...... Must live a good life!:)

| I was riding a bicycle along a road in the midwest somewhere and there
was one cloud in the sky. It was raining just over the road in a circle
perhaps 75' in diameter. We rode through it but groups 5 minutes
earlier and later didn't even see it.

| We were visiting Qumran (where the Dead Sea scrolls were found).
We got caught in a 10-minute downpour. We were told that it
happens every 50 years or so.

| In a rainstorm while in Savannah, GA, saw a lightning bolt knock down a
tree not 50 feet from where I was standing.
Others: When I was a kid my friend had a .22 rifle and we used to sneak
down in the woods to a river and shoot ducks floating down the stream.
He always tried for a head shot. After we shot them they would float
into a bend area and we could fish them out with a pole. One day he
lined up on one and popped it. When we went down to fish the duck out
there were two. Apparently got a second one which was in line with the
first duck's head. Doubt I will ever see that again. Especially since
it was in the town limits.
Four of us hunting with .22's. Big crow cruising overhead. My friend,
Larry, said "Watch this you guys" and popped off a round from the hip.
Down came the crow. One of the group who did not know Larry as well as
the rest of us did, got all excited and ran for the crow. Right through
the middle. Larry with a straight face, said, "Damn. I was aiming for
the crow's head". The kid with the crow was overwhelmed and from then
on swore that my friend Larry was the best shot in the state of Maine.
Got separated from my friend when we went into Air Force basic training
even though we were supposed to be on the "buddy plan". Few weeks later
went to some big outdoor arena where all basic trainees were to get
some propaganda pep talk.About 4,500 people. I stood up to look around
and my friend yelled to me. He was sitting two people from me.
