71.0. "Reflections" by GLDOA::KATZ (Follow your conscience) Mon May 17 1993 21:43

When you look into the mirror who do you see? Is it the
person you want to be? Do you like what you see?

Sometimes I see myself turning into my father. The older I get
the more I think we look alike. Othertimes I see myself
as I was in different periods of my life. Being tired makes
a big difference as does feeling good.

It's funny you should mention this.

Try the following experiment, which occurred to me the other day.

Without a mirror, look down at yourself, right now, as you sit at your computer
screen. See you arms ? See your chest ? See your legs ? What's missing ??

I looked at myself this way the other day, and considered what I am seeing.
I'm seeing a headless person !

Did you over notice that ?

/Eric

Hold a piece of cardboard over one side of your face (edge down the
middle of your forehead, nose, mouth, chin) while looking in the
mirror. Now hold the cardboard over the other side of your face.

Notice the angle of your eyebrows, the appearance of your eyes and
    mouth, any wrinkles.

You'll notice that you probably look like two different people. That's
because we carry our emotions differently on each side of our bodies.

Or is it, as biologists tell us, because perfect bilateral symmetry is
not possible in a living organism?

There is probably some of both in it.

I see myself many different ways when I look in the mirror.

Dressed in a nice suit and well groomed, I usually like what I see really well.

naked and frowsy I sometimes like me OK but tend to get real critical about
my weight and condition.

In a variety of other states it varies almost as much, but, the real improvement
is that I no longer hate what I see.

Well, I'd rather see Kim Basinger when I look in the mirror, but
considering some of the faces I've seen out there I don't think Mother
Nature was too cruel to me.

I'm satisfied with what I see. The past year has turned the
moustach nearly all gray. There are lines forming at the corners of my
    eyes.

    as the saying goes.....

Jimmy Stewart, who is now celebrating his 85th brithday remarked that
he no longer likes what he sees when he looks in the mirror, so he
    just doesn't look.

Heck, I'd rather see Lorna. Ain't into this hero worship crap. Lorna
is a real person who I've come to respect from her notes.

I'd be pretty upset if I looked in the mirror and saw Lorna.

(Nothing personal Lorna, I think it would be traumatic to see anybody
    other than me in there...)

re .17, imagine my horror if I looked in the mirror and saw you! :-)
