| Hell, pilgrim .. if we would all subscribe to nudism we could save a
tremendous amount of money on clothes! Not only that but all the
"foreplay" prior to sex .. all the time wasted in this game of slowly
removing clothes .. could be avoided .. not to mention cleaning
bills .. and laundry .. and folding clothes .. packing for trips,
packing to return .. unpacking .. luggage .. worrying if your "in
style" .. all the crap associated with clothes.

50.7 | cloth can say allot about a woman | STAR::ABBASI | i am therfore i think | Sun Apr 04 1993 13:13 | 27 |
| .-1
not every one has a great body like some of us have, that is why
i think cloths were invented, to hide things.
i also think that cloth can give your personality away, i say a woman
who wears a trouser is one who out going type, but one who wears
a dress is more into talk and music, i also think a woman who wears a hat
is from the east cost, like new jersey or Cleveland , Ohio and she
probably likes to read too (fiction and maybe horror movies).
a woman who wears boots is into rock and roll and michel jackson, but
one who wears high heals shoes is into dining out in fancy restaurants
and into musics like bob marly and jazz, i also noticed that a woman who is
wears tee shirts allot is an open minded woman willing to discuss new
ideas and horizons and is usually from the west cost like southern
California. women from the east cost wear more thick cloths
than the west cost ones (more fabric too).
a woman who wears a calf around her nick and thick sweaters is into
the spirit and the self awareness courses.
i think cloth can give allot about a woman, the above are some of
my own personal observations on the matter from my experience, may
be they match your observations too.

| \nasser, clothing was invented to keep the "naked ape" (that's us) warm
in climates other than that of central Africa. Modesty came *much*
later. But modesty has given great scope to imagination, and sexy is
90% imagination.

| OK, disclaimer here: everything you read here is "imho."
As 44.11 said, it really does depend on the occasion. It depends on the
woman, too.
First of all, "extremes" never have appealed to me, such as:
- the latest cutting-edge "creations," whatever they may be,
- ultra-traditional clothes,
- "I hate my sex" and "existential" clothes (e.g. what's in the
"Tweeds" catalogs -- can you spell B-O-R-I-N-G ?),
- too-short or too-long hemlines (except for the long pleated skirts
I've been seeing, which are very nice I think, especially in
ivory or olive),
- lots of "clangy" jewelry,
- "flats" or (at the other end of the spectrum) 4" heels,
- Spandex,
- tons of makeup.
For business/office wear: remember the series "Wiseguy" which was about a
young FBI undercover cop? Well, there were maybe a half-dozen episodes in
which Joan Severance played co-starring roles as a major drug trafficker. I
remember once she wore a simple nicely-fitted 2-piece grey business suit with
a slim skirt just above the knee (that suit just screamed "I'm from Italy and
I'm EXPENSIVE"), nice white button-front blouse, classy dull-black pumps,
little or no jewelry as I recall. Subdued, but absolutely stunning and
unforgettable. Nothing like a well-tailored suit!
Casual wear: jeans or tapered-leg pants, nice shoes, light-colored shirt,
maybe a fine-plaid blazer.
"Cuddling-on-the-couch" wear: shorts and a sheer ribbed tank during the
summer, as much black or white silk as possible in the winter.
While I'm here, I'll have to agree with Nasser in .3, but Nasser, where in
the world did you come up with .7? Gaaaaaad, I almost pulled the monitor
off the desk, I was laughing so hard! :-)

| The title say perfectly "dressed" woman not "undressed" woman. I think
that in general most people look better with some clothing on.
I like women in dresses. I admit to a fondness for long dresses with
fairly full skirts. Tight clothing often looks uncomfortable and a
woman who looks (and hopefully feels) comfortable seems more attractive
then one struggling to walk or to sit.

nah, I work in the same office. I knew Tade. She wore more different
kinds of black clothing. Very nice lady.
actually, I was joking, there are a million women in the naked city
of this clothing-type, walk down Hollywood Blvd any evening....
I like the healthy type, mysself. I live in kinda a trendoid
neighborhood where the neo-boho look has been strong for the past few
years, though. I don't know how people stay so pale in LA without
major league sunblock.

i liked women who wear short shorts, they was lots of them in
southern California where i went to grad school, i thought they were
very cute too, i found it very hard for me to get a conversation
going with them, never figured why, now adays i like the more
sophisticated look on a women, like the Harvard English literature
look with nice glasses and the long raised hair and heavy sweaters,
kind'a like the fall look among the misty trees on a fall autumn morning,
it is funny how we change too.

Try looking them in the eyes rather then below the neck. I have known
a few women whose eyes were so great that I couldn't concentrate on
conversation but not many. In that case try the nose or the forehead.
But if you are trying to have a conversation looking somewhere at the
face usually makes it better.

| Interesting topic. How come men love the way their wife dressed before
they marry and then they decide that she needs to change and buy a
whole new wardrobe, A VERY CONSERATIVE ONE NO LESS.
And, how come men love to check out women that are heavily made up and
even date a lot of them but when they commit or marry someone they prefer
the "natural look or no make up at all".
Just the consensus that I have seen...

far.
What you're referring to is posessiveness based on insecurity. It's not
unique to men.

| My wife has very nice legs, and I always like to see as much as
possible of them, even when we are in company. She never wore much
makeup, even during the 4 or 5 years I knew her before we married.
On the other hand, having been married for 25 years I possibly have
less of an insecurity problem than others.
She doesn't like to see me partially dressed in company, but she
says that's because I look disgusting :-) She's probably right!
